Specialized Tarmac SL8 Pro Road Bike Description:

The Specialized Tarmac SL8 Pro is designed for speed across any ride profile. Building upon the SL7’s “one bike to rule them all” mantra, the Tarmac SL8 is constructed around a FACT 10r Carbon frame that is lightweight, stiff, and strong, and provides the same level of compliance as the flagship S-Works model. In the pursuit of taking aerodynamics to the next level, Specialized developed the “Speed Sniffer” front design which sets the headtube back away from the leading edge of the bike, allowing for a sharper, lower drag shape, and improved the seat tube shape so “dirty air” around the riders legs has an easier time flowing past the rear of the frame. In terms of its stiffness-to-weight ratio, the SL8 provides a 33% gain over the SL7, making this bike equally suitable for all-out sprints at the local crit race or setting a new personal best up that next hill climb.

Spec’d with Shimano Ultegra Di2, the Pro model provides a high-level of electronic shifting performance (12 speed Di2 is known for its impressive battery life, ultra-fast shifting speeds, and hassle-free hydraulic brakes). For this build, Specialized has included a 4iiii crank-based power meter allowing riders to take their training and pacing to the next level. On top of that, deep rimmed Roval Rapide CL III wheels provide a high-level of stability in the wind, excellent protection from pinch flats, and are super stiff (plus they can be easily setup tubeless).
