Surly Ice Cream Truck Fat Tire Mountain Bike Frameset Description:

The Surly Ice Cream Truck Fat Tire Mountain Bike Frameset was designed for a rider that is looking to stuff incredibly fat tires onto a bike. At the heart of this frameset is Surly’s rugged full chromoly frame and fork that has been tweaked to allow for up to 5.1″ wide tires to clear the frame, and fitting this frame with these super-sized shoes will allow the bike to fly over mud, ice, snow, sand, and basically whatever else is on the trail. Included touches like the oversized 44mm headtube and thru axles front and rear help add stiffness and handling precision to this bike so you can stay in control no matter what happens. Add in external cable routing and a threaded bottom bracket for easy maintenance as well as a wide assortment of braze-ons and mounts that allow fenders, racks, and many other accessories to attach to this frame, and the build possibilities are endless. Once this frameset is built up, it is only a matter of time before you are making monster truck sounds as you roll through any obstacle, weather, or terrain that you encounter on your favorite trails.

Features:

• 100% Surly Chromoly steel frame and fork are incredibly rugged and will take the edge off of trail vibrations for a smoother ride
• Frame tubes with a trumpet style flare and the oversized 44mm headtube are robust enough to handle stresses of a suspension fork, and a suspension fork with up to 140mm of travel can be fitted to this bike without compromising durability or upsetting the bike’s handling characteristics
• Included rigid full chromoly fork has a suspension corrected geometry so bike will handle similarly whether a suspension fork is or is not installed
• Frame utilizes external cable routing (except for the internal, or stealth, dropper post cable routing) for easy shifter cable and brake cable housing or hydraulic hose replacement
• Rear triangle of frame is spaced for a 12 x 197mm thru-axle (included with frameset), but will accept a 10 x 190mm rear hub/wheel with Surly 10/12 Adapter Washers (sold separately)
• Horizontal rear drop-outs with integrated derailleur hanger allow bike to be set up for either a single speed or multi-speed drivetrain
• Threaded 100mm bottom bracket shell for better chainline with wide rear hubs, chain ring clearance with the chainstays, easy maintenance, and creak free pedaling
• Multiple braze-on mounts for racks, fenders, bottle cages, and other accessories
• Clearance for up to 26 x 5.1″ tires on 100mm wide rim in the frame when wheel is slid into the full-rearward position
